Parts of Speech

Parts of speech are words, which have their own identity to apply in a sentence. There are mainly eight parts of speech i.e, (noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, preposition, conjunction, interjection)
Every part of speech has also more than one identity to be applied in a sentence. For example a word, work is a noun Well as a verb.
These all parts of speech have different parts to know them clearly. For instance, the if we talk about talk about a noun, as it’s the first part of speech which we going to discuss, has its different parts such as common noun, proper noun, material noun etc.

1. The Noun:

A noun is a name of a person, place, thing, city etc.

Let’s take examples of the noun, Aditya, Delhi, Love, Boy, India, Airport, Milk, Chair, Doctor, Horse etc.

2. The Pronoun:

A pronoun is a word which is used to replace a noun.
Let’s rake example of the pronoun: I, we, you, they, He, She, It, My, her, our, my, me, us, them, those etc.

3. The Adjective:

An adjective describes the quality of a noun or a pronoun.
Let’s rake examples of the adjective: Passionate, lovely, Blue, young, funny, honestly, honest etc.

4. The Verb:

A verb tells about the state of an action is taken. It also shows the action taken for something by someone.
Let’s take examples of the verb: come, dance, repeat, have, take, bring, play, visit, enjoy, operate etc.

5. The Adverb:

An adverb tells us that how, where, when, how often an action is being taken, it describes a verb, an adjective and also an adverb.

Let’s take examples of the adverb: usually, today, recently, beautifully, firstly, well, twice, etc.

6. The Preposition:

A preposition tells about the relationship of noun and pronoun with another word. It tells about time, place and more.
Let’s take examples of the preposition: in, between, in front of, above, over, about, with, under, on etc.

7. The Conjunction:

A conjunction joins two words, sentence phrases etc. this is why it also called connectors.
 Let’s take examples of the conjunction: and, but, not only… but also, because, until, still etc.
let’s understand it with an example in a sentence: we and his friend going to the movie hall, because we want to enjoy the weekend.

8. The Articles:

The article is the word that modifies the noun. There are definite(the) and indefinite(a and an) articles.
let’s understand it with an example in a sentence: An unknown person came with a hockey stick and hit the car.

9. The Interjection:

An interjection is the word which is used to express feeling and emotion, and also to exclaim your feeling or emotion.
Let’s take some examples: Wow! wonderful! Oh my god! oh no! alas! hurray! etc.
let’s understand it with an example in a sentence: Hurray! India won the match.
